Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I register?
If you are a first time visitor, simply click on the "My Info" button above, fill out the information and hit submit.
- Why can't I register without an email address?
The purpose of this site is to provide communication among alumni. If you don't provide at least one form of contact, then your registration does no one any good.
- How do I update my information?
Once you have registered, the site saves your login information. So, if you click on the "My Info" button above, your information will be filled out as you did when you registered. You can modify any of the fields and click submit and your record is edited. If the information fields are blank, then you are not logged into the site. You will need to login to update your data.
- I share a computer with another LR Alumni, how can we both register?
Since the site saves your username and password for you in the form of a cookie, you will need to logout of the site for the other alumni to be able to register. To logout, click here or click the link below the ship on the home page.
- How do I login?
To see if you are logged into the site or not, visit the home page. Look in the left-hand column. If you see a ship with a welcome note with your name, then you are logged into the system already. If you see a few form fields, then you will need to enter your username and password to enter.
- How do I remove information from a field?
If you are trying to make a field blank, try putting a space in the field.
- I signed up but my record was deleted, what happened?
If someone registers with a false email address, a rejection notice is recieved in the info@lochraven.org mailbox. Any registry that results in a rejection notice is removed. This will hopefully prevent people from abusing the priviledges of the site by registering with false data.
- I am getting an error message, what does it mean?
If you receive an error message, please send the exact message to info@lochraven.org. If the message indicated duplicate data, it typically means that you have already registered. Please login to the site with your existing username and password.
- I forgot my username, what is it?
All usernames are set up in this format: [GradYear][1st 5 of Last Name][1st 3 of First Name] For example, Jane Smith from 1991 would be 1991smithjan. .
- I try to browse around the site, but I keep getting the home page, what's happening?
You are not logged into the site. Enter your username and password into the form fields on the left-hand column of the home page.
